A.M. Ahad was born in 1989 and working as a photojournalist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed graduation in Mass communication, Media studies and Journalism from Stamford University Bangladesh. Ahad started his early career as a contributor photojournalist at several daily newspapers, later he joined as a staff photojournalist at DrikNEWS, an international news photo agency in Bangladesh, then The Daily Sun. He is now a photojournalist at Associated presses (AP) based in Bangladesh.
His work has been featured worldwide, including Angkor photo festival in Cambodia, The Charlotte Observer Gallery in USA, The Guardian Gallery, Kings Place in London, The Grand Atrium of Dubai Mall in Dubai, The Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) in Indonesia, Drik Gallery in Bangladesh.
Ahad has also been published in TIME.com, The New York Times, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, The Observer Magazine, Courrier International, Asian GEO, Saudi Aramaco World, Himal Southasian, I Care, New Age, and Forum Magazine of Daily Star and in many other international publications.
He achieved awards in NPPA 3rd prize in General News Category in 2014, 1st prize on National Headliner Award 2014 in Magazines, news services or syndicates spot news photography category in 2014, Awarded an honorable mention (photos category) in a youth photography and writing competition in 2013, Awarded an honorable mention in CGAP Photo Contest in 2013, Awarded an honorable mention in Photo Share Photo Contest in 2014, Eco Foundation Student Photojournalism Award in 2012, 1st prize in the IUCN’s Biodiversity in Focus environmental photography competition in 2010, Ariano International Film Festival photography department award in 2013, most commented on WPO in 2013 and some national photo competition awards.
He has participated in uncountable photo workshops, training and exhibitions in Bangladesh and abroad, he also participated at the sixth Angkor workshop in Cambodia, and the first Master Class on Asia organized by Stream Photo Asia in Bangkok. Recently he completed his post graduation in Photojournalism from the Asian Center for Journalism as a full scholar at Ateneo De Manila University, Philippine.
